Yuva Sangeetha Lahari

Yuva Sangeetha Lahari (YSL) of New Jersey is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to promoting the growth of Carnatic (South Indian Classical) music in North America. YSL is passionate about promoting excellence in Carnatic music, and has consistently showcased the best and brightest talents in North America. We strongly believe that through our dedicated efforts, YSL is making a positive contribution to the growth of the quality of Carnatic music in North America.

We bring to you the following regular events during the calendar year:

  • Dhvani: Our Summer season concert series featuring top young musicians in North America
  • Srishti: Our Fall season concert series featuring top young musicians of North America
  • Bimonthly chamber concerts
  • Educational workshops and master classes by eminent Gurus

All events organized by YSL are free and open to public.


Code of Conduct:
Here at Yuva Sangeetha Lahari (YSL), it is our goal to create a safe and positive space conducive to bringing together artists, helping them grow, and forging a strong community. Our code of conduct applies to performers/participants, individuals attending the program, volunteers, and sponsors and it is in line with the N.J.S.A. 2C:33-4.  We have a ZERO tolerance policy towards any form of verbal and physical harassment, especially sexual harassment.  This equally applies to any form of bullying, badgering, bribery, slander, and libel.  In addition, we expect all performers to treat their co-artists with respect and equals on and off stage.  As an individual present during a YSL program, please remember to comply with all rules and regulations of the venue.

Complaints and allegations filed with us will be swiftly investigated.  Please see below for our complaints handling mechanism:

Complaints can be filed in a secure and safe space to our private complaints email complaints.ysl@gmail.com. Our secretary will review complaints in a timely manner and then request permission to present the complaint to the rest of the executive board.  The board will then review the complaint and if need be (depending on the nature of the complaint) we may refer to an external party such as law enforcement, immigration services, and or legal counsel.  In the case of a conflict of interest regarding a board member, said member will recuse him or herself from any meetings disclosing information of the complaint as well as individuals/parties involved.
